Soccer field turf

FieldTurf is the gold standard for artificial infill turf.  While its imitators generally use irregular mechanically ground rubber bits to provide a mere 3 lbs per square foot of lightweight cover for their surfaces, FieldTurf uses a layer of sand ballast to stabilize its surface at 7 lbs per square foot, and uses a far more expensive process of cryogenic freezing to break the rubber topping it into uniform pieces.  As a result, unlike the more hazardous, wrinkled surfaces of its competitors, FieldTurf provides an even, injury-free surface which welcomes the use of cleats and plays like real turf.
